If Atheists Paused to Think
If everyone who subscribed to a secular world view really DID think, would they actually be an atheist? There is surely an uncertainty principle at work within the Universe, or at least enough of a one to make the existence of an extra-physical reality possible. And thus the most they should ever call themselves is agnostic.
That is the definition of neither atheism nor agnosticism. The two aren’t mutually exclusive; you can have agnostic atheists and gnostic atheists, as well as agnostic and gnostic theists
If you don’t believe in a God, but don’t claim to know there is no God, congratulations you’re an agnostic atheist. This is probably the most reasonable belief to hold about the universe, and the one that most secular thinkers who really DO think hold most often
Of course the existence of God is possible, I’m not claiming it isn’t, but until I see any reasonable proof I have every single right to call myself a thinking atheist, thank you very much. Don’t tell me what I should or shouldn’t call myself.
End rant.
